Church Facility Use Policy and Information

We are pleased that you are considering using Zion UMC’s building for your special event!

We are happy to share our God-given blessings with our community.

In order to be good stewards of our facilities, we have set forth some basic guidelines
to help keep our building accessible, clean, and as safe as possible.

Scheduling

The Church Office Manager maintains a calendar of all church events. The worship services, church events, and ministries of Zion UMC will have priority when scheduling. All dates and events must be cleared through the church office (info@zionumcva.org) before anything is planned or added to the calendar.

Requesting Church Facility

Church members, staff, preschool families, and community groups are welcome to request use of the building and facilities. Because we rely on our church volunteers to unlock the building, familiarize our renters with the facility and clean-up procedures, and assist with bounce house set-up, we do charge a fee for all groups. This also helps alleviate the expense of electricity used when we are open for additional events. (However, there are significant discounts for ZUMC & ZCCC staff and congregants. Our current ZCCC preschool families also receive a discount.)

Please know that Zion UMC is a smoke-free environment, and therefore, there is no smoking in the church buildings. Additionally, alcoholic beverages, illegal substances, and weapons are strictly prohibited on church property.

To request the Zion UMC facility, please do the following:

  1. Please read our Building Use Form (linked below), which contains our rates, fees, rules, and clean-up expectations.

  2. If you agree to these guidelines, confirm availability by emailing Kerri at info@zionumcva.org with your desired date.

  3. Once the Office Manager confirms the date, please complete and return the Building Use Form with payment to the Church Office prior to your event/party.

Please note: In addition to the facility use fee, we do require $100 cleaning deposit. This fee is refundable IF the “Closing Checklist” is fully completed by the renters. Writing a separate check for the $100 cleaning deposit is preferable.
